10 Jul SouthPark mansion with carriage house and saltwater pool is Charlotte’s most expensive listing
This French-inspired château in SouthPark just hit the market for $13.25 million.
Why it matters: The eight-figure price tag makes it Mecklenburg County’s most expensive listing at the moment.
Context: The home belongs to Michael J. Bailey, a North Carolina-based executive, chairman for Davinci Jets and co-founder of the food service company Elior North America.
- Steve Lonnen with SL Home Group has the listing.
What they’re saying: “The privacy and security of this home is incredible and to be in the middle of town you’d never know it,” Bailey said in a statement to Axios.
- “It’s so serene, quiet and peaceful. You can’t hear a thing.”
Layout: Spanning 14,843 square feet, this SouthPark mansion has seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms and three powder rooms.
- You can take the elevator or stairs to travel throughout the three-level mansion to get to areas like the basement, gym or movie theater room.
Design: In-theme with the French-inspired architecture, the mansion comes with a carriage house fit with a kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom above a three-car garage.
- It also has seven fireplaces, each made from antique French and custom stone mantels.
- Other interior features that add to the luxurious design include crystal chandeliers, soaring ceilings with exposed wooden beams, a spacious wine cellar, plus a built-in bar with a sliding ladder and wine rack.
Outdoor living: The gourmet kitchen opens to an expansive terrace with a view of the saltwater pool.
- It also has a private pond and a cabana with a full kitchen and spa.
